If you were fortunate enough to attend Artexpo New York this year, one of the highlights was artist Hasan Kale’s incredible micro art exhibit! If you’re not familiar with his work, Hasan Kale is a Turkish micro artist who creates incredibly intricate small paintings on objects as tiny as matchstick heads (see photo below).
Until yesterday, I’m embarrassed to admit that I’d never heard of him before. His exhibit was difficult to miss at this year’s Artexpo due to its popularity and enthusiastic crowds of attendees. Upon viewing the collection, it was clear why the art yielded such a positive response. Each piece was unique and beautiful — visitors were provided with a magnifying glass in order to view the images in their entirety. Although I could go into further detail describing his artwork, I don’t think I could do it justice and I wouldn’t want to spoil the experience. It really is something you have to go and see in person.
