Lunch can be very expensive in Manhattan, so it’s always a pleasure to find a great deal. I’ve been to so many restaurants and cafes I can’t remember them all, except for Brunetti Pizza. Located in the West Village, Brunetti Pizza has one of the best lunch deals in the city. For $10, you can order off their lunch menu and leave fully satisfied. On the afternoon I went, their lunch menu choices included a classic Margherita pizza (shown in the photo), a spicy sopressara pizza and a chicken pesto Panini sandwich. I opted for the Margherita pizza; it was made with a delicious San Marzano tomato sauce along with fresh garlic, house-made mozzarella cheese, fresh basil and oregano. A true Neapolitan pizza, they served it fresh from a brick wood burning oven. The crust was crisp yet moist and delicate, complete with the wonderful flavor from the authentic brick oven. The portion size was good & the atmosphere relaxed. Another bonus – – the restaurant has two outdoor areas, a sidewalk patio and a small garden patio located in the rear of the restaurant. It’s a great combination because it offers customers a choice of both public and private outdoor seating. Or if you prefer you may sit in the comfortable air conditioned indoor dining section, complete with a television. Another nice feature of this restaurant is the self-serve water bottle provided with each meal. No need to ask the waiter for refills, you can simply do it yourself no problem. The service is pleasant and quick. And once you’re finished, you may want to use the nicely decorated bathrooms downstairs. Brunetti pizza is one of those rare finds, the kind of place only the locals know about. If you’re looking for a great affordable lunch in the West Village, look no further. This is the place.
