New York Fashion Week officially began February 9, 2017 complicated by a Northeastern blizzard. Many shows were held at Skylight Clarkson Sq. To view the complete schedule, please visit the NYFW official website. As is the usual, invite-only was the standard for many shows but (with a little bit of research and some luck) it is possible to attend New York Fashion Week. There are many articles on how to purchase and/or apply for NYFW tickets, I found a recent one with helpful suggestions at FWO. It is also worth noting that there are many events and shows affiliated with New York Fashion Week as well as contests and raffles offering a chance to win tickets (hint: check social media). New York Magazine publishes a comprehensive list of NYFW shows in a highly user-friendly format. For example, on February 9th, you may find which designers are having shows and presentations including (but not limited to) – Nicholas K, Erin Fetherston, Cinq a Sept, Collina Strada, Haus Alkire, Ohlin/D, Brock Collection, Helen Yarmak, Novis, Creatures of Comfort, Tadashi Shoji, ADEAM, Thakoon, RICH by Richie Rich, Ulla Johnson, Rag & Bone and La Perla and more. Also of note, Kanye West’s Yeezy show has reportedly been rescheduled towards the end of fashion week. With rising fashion star North West (check out her latest outfits here), expect there will be at least one Kardashian siting at NYFW.
